Tara Gasta trained as a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy practitioner and was certified in 1994. She began working with private clients in Milwaukee, Wisconsin while studying Kripalu Yoga at the Kripalu Yoga center in Lennox, Mass and was certified in 1995 as a Kripalu Yoga teacher. She later sat on an advisory committee at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield WI and assisted in creating a program to incorporate theraputic yoga for patients with fibromyalgia, heart conditions, and those recovering from back surgery.
Moving to Santa Cruz in 1998, she continued to practice Phoenix Rising with private clients, as well as teaching in health clubs, an education program at Dominican Hospital and the Triyoga Center. She studied Continuum Movement with Beth P. Riley and Emilie Conrad. She currently continues to see clients and teach classes in her private studio. She has recently begun teaching at the Louden Nelson Center in downtown Santa Cruz.
